Why Does the Bride Wear a Veil?

As Tradition has it,  it is considered bad luck for the bride to be seen by the groom before the bridal ceremony.  Actually,  in the old days of marriage, the couple couldn’t each other at all, with courtship being of more recent historical emergence.

The lifting of the veil at the end of the ceremony signifies the grooms dominance.  If the bride takes the initiative in lifting it, thereby presenting herself to him, she is showing more independence.

The veil used to cover a woman from head to toe – but modern veils are not so conservative. Over the years, this strict tradition has become more of an excuse to wear a beautiful accessory – Can you think of a better reason?
